Associate Attorney

The Springfield office of Evans & Dixon is seeking an Associate Attorney to assist in the areas of Workers' Compensation Insurance Defense and other civil and business needs. We are seeking an attorney with 0 to 5 years' experience and possible portable billings or the willingness to market and develop his/her own practice area, who is looking to join a widely recognized firm to build a practice and support existing and new firm clients.

Responsibilities:

• Taking depositions of Plaintiffs/Claimants, witnesses, experts and other parties
• Conducting discovery
• Performing legal research
• Remaining current with developments in the law
• Drafting pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents
• Arguing motions at trial court level
• Attending hearings and conferences with judges

• Be willing to work with senior attorneys and paralegals in all aspects of litigation

Education and Qualifications:

• A law degree from an ABA accredited law school
• Licensed in Missouri or have sat for the Missouri Bar
