Evans & Dixon is currently seeking to add a Director of Business Development in our St. Louis office. We are looking for candidates with a minimum of ten years of experience in business development roles within professional services, preferably in a law firm setting. As the Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for fostering and maintaining strong relationships with the Firm's clients to ensure satisfaction, loyalty, and retention by anticipating their needs, resolving issues, and ensuring that their legal services experience is seamless. The role is critical for enhancing client engagement, identifying new business opportunities, and promoting the Firm's reputation. Successful candidates will have a durable work ethic, superior ability to multitask, and enjoy working in a fast pace and intellectually stimulating setting.

What you'll do:

  • Client Engagement & Relationship Management: You will serve as a critical point of contact for all stakeholders in the value stream, managing all aspects of client interactions and communications while understanding the client's needs and ensuring that their expectations are met.
  • Business Development & Marketing: You will collaborate with attorneys and other teams to develop strategies to expand the Firm's footprint with current clients; identify and pursue opportunities to cross-sell or up-sell legal services to existing clients; and assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and pitches for new legal matters.
  • Profitability: You will develop & implement an aggressive pricing strategy to raise rates and profitability.
  • Client Satisfaction & Retention: You will develop and implement strategies to measure and enhance client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Collaboration: You will work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and others to ensure seamless delivery of legal services. You will maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Firm's legal services, market trends, and competitors to provide informed advice to clients.
  • Career Development: You will lead and participate in training sessions for young attorneys on developing and implementing strong business development and marketing skills.

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a business development role
  • Strong analytical, communication and people skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Experience in budget and marketing campaign management
  • Ability to work on highly detailed projects under time constraints
  • Ability to work effectively with corporate professionals
  • Be committed to excellent performance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Past law firm experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to travel to our out of state offices and clients
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
