Paralegal

Evans & Dixon is currently seeking to add a Paralegal with six plus months of experience to join our Chicago worker's compensation defense team. This is a demanding and fast paced position for an ambitious person. Candidates must be responsible, have the ability to multi-task, possess the ability to organize and maintain files; have excellent technical, interpersonal, and client-related skills; have a creative and diplomatic approach to problem solving and a keen sense of organization. We are looking for self- disciplined candidates with a strong work ethic.

Gain valuable and real-world legal experience by working alongside attorneys during all phases of the litigation process, from the initiation of a case to the discovery period through trial and post-trial findings and appeals.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain, review, and create medical record chronologies
• Filing, copying, and scanning
• Completing the necessary tasks to open a new case
• Organize and maintain documents in a paper or electronic filing systems
• Gather and arrange evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation
• File exhibits, briefs, appeals and other legal documents with the court or opposing counsel
• Call clients, witnesses, lawyers, and outside vendors to schedule interviews, meetings, and depositions

Skills and Specifications:

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs
• Ability to learn various software applications

Education and Qualifications:

• At least six months of applicable experience
