Worker's Comp Associate Attorney- Joliet, IL

Summary

Evans & Dixon is currently seeking a full-time licensed (in Indiana OR Illinois) Workers Compensation Associate Attorney to join our Joliet, IL location. The associate attorney position will require someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can autonomously handle a large volume of files along with meeting strict deadlines. Successful candidates should be teachable and have excellent analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. The associate attorney must have proven work experience as an Associate Attorney in a reputed law firm.

Responsibilities

• Be able to manage cases from inception through discovery and trial preparation
• Taking depositions of the claimant, witnesses, physicians, medical experts, and other parties
• Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, opinions, appeals, contracts, and other legal documents
• Gathering evidence and obtaining medical records for trial
• Remaining current with developments in the law
• Litigating cases before the workers compensation division
• Negotiating legal contract terms on behalf of clients and presenting arguments and counter arguments in court
• Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
• Must be to support existing and new clients

Requirements

• Illinois or Indiana license preferred
• Minimum of 2-3 years in a law firm workers comp environment; Personal Injury a plus
• Extensive knowledge of the State and Federal rules and regulations
• Must be able to grapple with large caseloads and multitask multiple priorities and deadlines
